1862 Pastor Nietmann of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sullivan, Wisconsin, began conducting services in Oconomowoc.
1865 On July 1 St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church was organized. The charter members were H. W. Peters, W. Wilke, Friedrich Meyer, Friedrich Rupnow, August Hartwig, H. Zimmermann, and K. Rochow. Land was purchased, and a renovated house served as the first church.
1869 Pastor Gebhard accepted the call as first pastor and was installed on October 7.
1879 The second church was dedicated on December 14. The first floor (completed in 1876) served as the school, and the second floor was used as the place of worship.
1915 The cornerstone was laid for the present church on September 5.
1917 The present church was dedicated on March 5.
Serious questions about the financial records tore the congregation apart. The case went to the Supreme Court of the State of the Wisconsin. The court's decision concluded that there was nothing illegal, but the pastor and principal were asked to resign. The Wisconsin Synod refused to give the congregation a call list, but the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod reluctantly agreed.
1922 The Rev. Theodore Kissling was called and accepted. Through his dedicated efforts, he united the congregation, led them faithfully through the Depression and World War II.
1948 Pastor Kissling died unexpectedly on October 26, greatly mourned by the congregation and the Oconomowoc community.
1961 The cornerstone was laid for the new school (built and attached at the north end of the church) on May 21 and was dedicated on September 10.
1965 The congregation celebrated the centennial of St. Paul's.
1977 The congregation celebrated the centennial of St. Paul's Lutheran School. At the same time, the church was renovated and the Rodgers Organ was purchased.
1990 The congregation celebrated its 125 anniversary; as part of the celebration, the church was once again renovated, and the windows were releaded. It was also in this year that Kinder Place, the congregation's day care, was founded.
1997 The west addition of the building was completed and was occupied.
