St. Paul's Lutheran School offers the following services to its families:

GIFTED & TALENTED
Beginning in the 5th grade, St. Paul's Lutheran School students have the ability to take online courses through the Wisconsin Center for Academically Talented Youth (WCATY).  These Language Arts based courses provide stimulating subject material for high-performing children in our middle school.  These courses take the place of a regular Literature course for the one quarter of the school year.  Students interact with fellow classmates from other schools across Southeast Wisconsin and with the course instructor.  The class will also meet three times for face-to-face instructional days during the course of each class.  You may find out more about WCATY by visiting www.wcaty.org

COUNSELING
There are times that our students need counseling for any number of reasons.  SPLS has formed a partnership with Lutheran Counseling & Family Services of Wauwatosa- www.lcfs.org - to provide a licensed counselor for students at our school and for members of the church.  The counselor works with the family and the homeroom teacher to set up a designated time to work with each child.  This service may also be available to community members looking for this type of service.  Please contact the church and school office at 262-567-5001 for more information.

RESOURCE ROOM
SPLS provides resource time for individual students or small groups who may need extra academic attention.  This service is provided throughout the week and is facilitated through our resource coordinator, homeroom teacher and parents.  The extra attention that our students receive helps them to gain confidence and greater comprehension in certain subjects that may be more challenging for them.

ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIORAL TESTING
When there is need for additional assistance in determining a special need a student might have, the administration of St. Paul's is able to turn to the Lutheran Special School of Milwaukee for assistance.  LSSES is able to provide a fully-trained and licensed teacher consultant to assist with testing and evaluation of our students.  LSSES is also able to refer our families to additional professionals when there is need for further attention to a special need.  LSSES teacher consultants are extremely helpful in working with the families and teachers of St. Paul's and other Lutheran schools throughout SE Wisconsin, especially when it comes to providing strategies and best practices for our teachers to use for students with special needs.  You may find out more information about Lutheran Special School by visiting their website - www.lsses.org.

Our mission of helping God's children grow doesn't stop in the regular classroom.  We're committed to assisting in the growth process any way we can.  Our student services reflect that.
