LIFE IN A ST. PAUL’S LUTHERAN SCHOOL KINDERGARTEN CLASS

The Star of the Week gives each child an opportunity to be in the spotlight. Children are encouraged to share things that make them unique. Parents are encouraged to come in as guest readers.

The special activities throughout our week include gym class, library time, art class, computer time, chapel, and reading-with-buddies. Children feel safe, loved and appreciated for the uniquely created individuals that they are.

SPIRITUAL AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Students are encouraged to express their relationship to Jesus in their writing, praying, singing, art, and conversations. We help our students develop a clear understanding that God loves them and that they are unique individuals. Integrated in all our teaching is helping students to become “other-centered” by focusing on problem solving and building each other up with words and actions. Our rule, “You can’t say, ‘You can’t play’” assures that all students can find friends and grow with their peers as they learn and develop. Children participate in chapel and worship services in addition to the biblical studies in the classroom.

BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENT

The child must be five years old by September 1 to be considered for kindergarten.
